It’s more expensive than other cribs we’ve seen however, the quality and durability are worth the extra expense. Our test subjects thought it was easy to put together and also that it looked most luxurious in our roundup. However, it’s costly particularly since you have to buy an additional mattress – and if you’re on a budget there are more affordable alternatives there.

Our testers thought this cot would be an excellent addition to any nursery.

The John Lewis Elementary is a good choice for parents who want a chic, modern-looking frame that will endure the test of time. It’s more expensive than some of the other options we’ve looked at, but it includes an adjustable changing table and wardrobe, making it possible to furnish your nursery in one step. It’s also easy to assemble and comes with three mattress height positions for your baby to develop into. It also comes with teething rails and an attractive drawer that slides under, so you don’t have to compromise your floor space.
It’s worth noting that you’ll need to buy an additional mattress for this cot bed, so make sure you budget for it. A quality mattress can be bought for less than PS100. It’s not an enormous expense. The only downside is that you may have a difficult time finding a good fit because the cot is an oval shape, but there are many kinds of mattresses that work for it.
